Todd Lassiter, co-owner Shepherd's Way Day School

 

Todd Lassiter is the Business Administrator and assumes the responsibilities directly related to the daily operations of the facility.  These include purchasing, accounting, human resources, marketing, public relations, safety and security.  Todd holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and a Master's Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  In addition, Todd has 20 years experience in business administration, purchasing and operations management.

 

Karen Lassiter, co-owner Shepherd's Way Day School

 

 

Karen Lassiter is the Executive Director of the program and concentrates on program standards, state compliance and teacher/parent training.  She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Family Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She has previously owned her own five-star rated large home center (which was the first five-star license awarded in Randolph County), and has 20 years of experience in the field of childcare.  Prior to opening Shepherd's Way, she worked as an Early Childhood Specialist at Randolph Community College.

 

 

Brenda Thomas - Site Director

Ms. Thomas has been employed with Shepherd’s Way Day School since it first opened in the fall of 2005. She was the Pre-K Teacher for the first year and then was promoted to Site Director in January of 2007 and has over 15 years of childcare and teaching experience.  From 2001 to 2004 she was the Student Life Administrator for a worldwide charter school called Sabis Educational Systems. During her time with Sabis, she acquired leadership skills necessary for her carreer in teaching and directing.

Ms. Thomas received educational instruction in the area of Early Childhood Education, along with Administration courses and training. She has been married for 17 years and enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and organic gardening.

Devon Walton - Assistant Site Director

Devon Walton, Assistant Site Director at Shepherd's Way Day School, Colfax

Devon Walton, Assistant Director, holds an Associates of Arts degree from Randolph
Community College and is currently working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood at Western Carolina University.  Devon handles the day-to-day operations for the Colfax site.
